Finding the right attorney to work with you to solve a serious legal problem
is a decision that can affect your life, as well as as your financial well being. I accept selected clients and
cases in the areas of serious personal injury, civil commercial litigation, Native American litigation, and "white collar"
criminal work. I have had the opportunity and satisfaction of successfully representing clients throughout the State
of Michigan, in both State and Federal Courts, since 1972.
At the firm, my staff and I will strive to make your experience a positive one. The stress of involvement
in the legal system can be daunting. We make every attempt to help you understand both your rights and your responsibilites.
I would be happy to provide references or a resume of professional experience. I have served as both the President
of the State Bar of Michigan and as the United States Attorney for the Western District of Michigan, the federal
District compromed of the 49 counties in western and upper Michigan. I was appointed as United States Attorney by President
William Clinton and confirmed by the United States Senate.
As a trial lawyer, I have tried more than 100 civil and criminal jury trials in my career. I have been honored
to be invited by my peers to membership in the American Board of Trial Advocates, a national organization of trial lawyers
who represent personal and corporate clients, both as plaintiffs and defendants.
